Wonder at the mystery, beauty, and exuberence of living things inspires all my recent work. Years of study, outdoors and in the classrooom, have deepend my appreciation of the natural world and intensified my concern about its disappearance.

Loss and rebirth, growth and decay, the passage of time, tides, and seasons, and the lives of other species on this earth, which parallel our own; these are things I think about and try to convey in my work.

Ghost animals, creatures that are not normally white, done in white or gray, are reminders of what we are losing, what we have lost.
